NEWS5.30.2003 - We're Building An Audience - Show 46We had 2 call-in requests on the show. Travis requested Enuff Z'Nuff and random dude requested GNR - Paradise City. Keep the requests and calls coming, everybody. We want to hear from our audience. We also talked about our recent trip to the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland. It is an amazing place. If you are even remotely a fan of rock music, you have to go. It's well worth the trip. It's so big and has so many displays that it took Chesty and I two days to go through the place. And we saw everything. From instruments to rock fashion to hand written lyrics to video presentations to interactive kiosks, the place is hip. I recently purchased Firehouse's eponymous first album at a yard sale for 50 cents. Now that's a deal. Playlist:

-- -- -- Show 45 was a reprise of the Mad Margritt Interview show (#42). We were both out of town over Memorial Day weekend, so we decided to replay the interview show. Please see show 42 for details. # posted by groovesocket @ 2:21 PM
-- -- -- This was the first show of the "Under the Covers" series that was live. The first three were all pre-recorded. I can't believe there is enough material out there to do 4 shows of covers. I've probably got enough to do another. I always come across more every week. These cover song shows are fun to do because it good to hear how hair metal bands cover classic songs. Some do a killer version, other butcher the song. We also had our new roving reporter, Doughboy, give his first report. He told us about his life as a hair metal rocker in LA in the '80s. PLAYLIST: (original artist in parentheses)
Next weeks show will be pre-recorded. Chesty and I will be in Cleveland at the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame over Memorial Day Weekend. # posted by groovesocket @ 1:12 PM
-- -- -- I brought up a political topic and all hell broke loose. Paul Porzio called in to give us his 2 cents worth, and it ended up over 20 minutes. Then an old dude called in with an off-topic discussion about volunteering. Both calls prevented the new Shock Jock Hair Rock Show roving reporter, Doughboy, from calling in. So basically this show will be scrapped. I'm never bringing up a political topic on the radio show again! Playlist:

-- -- -- We talked with Eddie Smith, frontman of Mad Margritt. He was in the basement of his house the entire interview due to a tornado warning. He told us about the band, Perris Records, the drummer's girlfriends and what's under the bassist's hat. You'll have to listen to the interview to find out. Playlist:
