3.28.2003 - Decline of the Golden Era - Show 37

Show 37 was the 'Decline of the Golden Era' show. Songs from albums released by hair metal bands past their expiration date. After all the platinum albums and the death of the genre, some of the most popular bands of the genre continued putting out albums and touring, despite a severe decline in popularity. Guess they had nothing better to do.

Playlist: [album and year in parentheses]
  1. L.A. Guns - Long Time Dead (Vicious Circle 1994)
  2. David Lee Roth - A Lil' Ain't Enough (A Little Ain't Enough 1991)
  3. Poison - Stand (Native Tongue 1993)
  4. Def Leppard - Miss You In A Heartbeat (Retro Active 1993)
  5. Great White - Sister Mary (You Can't Get There From Here 1999)
  6. Slaughter - Real Love (The Wild Life 1992)
  7. Mr. Big - Trapped In Toyland (Hey Man 1996)

Next week we will be re-broadcasting the Jason Hook interview show.

3.14.2003 - Jason Hook Interview & Bon Jovi Concert Review - Show 35

Sheebear was the co-host this week because Chesty was in Las Vegas for a bachelorette party. We reviewed the Bon Jovi concert we went to the weekend before at MCI Center. Bon Jovi put on a good, long show with tight arrangements and very little jamming. They ended the show with the worst cover song - Shout (the oldies song). Goo Goo Shit Dolls opened. I liked them better when they were called Hanson.

We interviewed Jason Hook, current guitarist for Vince Neil and a member of the Bulletboys. He was at one time also in Mandy Moore's band. But we won't get into that here. You'll have to listen to the interview for details. Vince Neil and band played Jaxx the following night, and I snapped some pictures of Jason and Vince on stage.

Since we didn't give our fans advanced notice of the interview, I plan to replay the entire show in a few weeks, this time with advanced notice.

Sheebear was music director this week.

Playlist:
  1. Vince Neil - 25 or 6 to 4 (Chicago cover)
  2. White Lion - Radar Love (Golden Earring cover)
  3. Queensryche - Revolution Calling
  4. Poison - Unskinny Bop
  5. Jon Bon Jovi - Blaze of Glory (Sheebear's favorite!)
  6. Vince Neil - I Wanna Be Sedated (Ramones cover)

Next weeks show will be pre-recorded. It is a reprise of Under the Covers III (show 30, originally broadcast 02.07.2003).

  3.07.2003 - Porn Accountant - Show 34

Emily Cummins, our accountant with the great classic porn name, called in on the show while she was visiting DC. Catch her in "Porn Accountant 2 - Working Our Briefs."

We had technical difficulties with the Bang Tango songs last week, so we played them this week. They're in town. We also played a new hair metal band, Mad Margritt. They are from Shock and Chesty's old stomping grounds of Atlanta, Georgia.

Playlist:
  1. Bang Tango - Someone Like You
  2. EMN - Tobacco Road
  3. Mad Margritt - Nothing Can Keep Me Away
  4. Cinderella - Coming Home (Live)
  5. Def Leppard - Rock Rock (Till You Drop)
  6. Mr. Big - To Be With You
  7. Poison - Nothin' But A Good Time
  8. Bang Tango - Love Injection
